About me
Angela Amaya is a dedicated Grade 4 teacher at St. Teresa School in Edmonton, Alberta. Originally from Bucaramanga, Colombia, she moved to Canada in 2008 to pursue her academic and professional journey. She holds a degree in Psychology with a minor in Latin American Studies from the University of Alberta, as well as an After-Degree in Education with a focus on Elementary teaching.
Passionate about education, Angela finds joy in nurturing her students’ growth, both academically and personally. She is committed to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to explore, question, and develop confidence in their abilities. Angela is passionate about language learning and has experience teaching Spanish. She values the importance of language and culture in education and enjoys helping students develop their Spanish skills while deepening their appreciation for Hispanic heritage.
When she’s not in the classroom, Angela enjoys spending time with her family, engaging in long walks with friends, and traveling during the summer.
